Simone ​Spagnolo has collaborated with numerous harpists, developing a rich repertoire of works for solo harp and harp ensembles which have been performed globally by numerous musicians. Harpists that have performed Spagnolo's compositions include internationally renown performers such as Gabriella Dall'Olio, Giulia Rettore, Maria Chiossi, Clara Gatti Comini, Maria McNamee, Francesca Tirale, and Liana Perillo, just to name a few.

 

Spagnolo's harp works are mostly scored for unusual, eclectic instrumental combinations, offering original sonic contexts and expanding the harp repertoire.
Examples include Gimnopedia Rapsodica, for piccolo, flute, celesta, two harps and speaking voice, and the musical action The Confession of Yoshiko Shioda, for flute, bassoon, harp, and pre-recorded voice.

 

His composition Silenzio, for prepared harp has been performed globally in tens of concerts. It was featured in a dedicated documentary broadcast on Cultural Plaza, Jade Channel TVB, Hong Kong (2018), on the UK Harp Association's Composers Corner webpage (2024), and on World Harp Congress's Spectrum (2024). Also, it was the object of discussion in Francesca Virgilio's dissertation 'Contemporary Harp Writing: Three Case Studies' (Conservatorio di Brescia, Italy, 2018).

Silenzio is regularly performed as part of recitals and conservatoire exams, and it is featured in the Trinity College London’s Syllabus.
